Vijayawada: A 38-year-old handloom worker ended his life allegedly due to mounting debts. The deceased has been identified as Narasimhulu, a native of Gungivaripalle in Mulakalacheruvu mandal, Chittoor district. According to police, Narasimhulu had been residing in Chowdeswari Nagar of Madanapalle, along with his wife and two children. He was engaged in handloom weaving for several years to support his family. However, in recent months, he had reportedly fallen into severe financial distress as his debts continued to increase. On Thursday night, unable to bear the financial pressure, Narasimhulu consumed pesticide at his residence. His family members, upon noticing his condition, rushed him to the local government hospital in Madanapalle. As his condition worsened, he was shifted in an ambulance to a hospital in Tirupati for further treatment. Despite the efforts of doctors, he succumbed while undergoing treatment early on Friday morning.Police have registered a case and are investigating.
