D. V. V. Danayya’s DVV Entertainment known for big-ticket films like RRR, produced Pawan Kalyan’s OG, which recently received approval for a special ticket price hike for 9 PM paid premieres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In Telangana, tickets were approved at Rs. 800 each, including GST.
However, advocate Barla Mallesh Yadav filed a case challenging the price increase and successfully stalled the higher ticket rates. In a setback for the production house and its buyers, the High Court ruled that the tickets must be sold at regular prices, refusing to allow the proposed hike.
Surprisingly, DVV Danayya’s production house stooped to behavior more typical of fan-war Twitter handles. The official DVV Entertainment account mocked the petitioner and offered a Rs. 100 discount on his ticket anywhere in Nizam. This low-level, fan-war-style response is unexpected from a production house that has delivered major films like RRR.
The legal case is still ongoing, with the next hearing scheduled for October 9. Yet, the production’s decision to post such tweets shows how even major studios are stooping to a low level on social media these days.
