Peddler held with hydroponic ganja

Hyderabad: In coordination with Charminar police, Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (HNEW) arrested a peddler in a joint operation on Thursday. The accused, identified as Ali Bin Hamid (46), a resident of Bandlaguda Jagir, was caught with 45 gram of OG (Hydroponic Ganja), 2 kg of ganja, a mobile phone, a scooter, and Rs 1.03 lakh in cash. The total seizure is valued at around Rs 4 lakh.Police said Hamid, who turned to drug peddling due to financial troubles, sourced narcotics through dead drops from his handler, who is called “Captain”, and supplied them across the city. He allegedly collected payments in cash and online, which were routed through Captain’s associates. A case was registered under the NDPS Act.HNEW has urged citizens to stay away from drugs and asked parents to keep a close watch on their children.
