BHPian TonyJames recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Trip up and down from Bengaluru (Indiranagar) to Mahindra World City:Started my Journey at 6:30 PM from Bengaluru on Thursday. Previously I Had a horrific experience in Attibelle recently where I had to wait for 2hrs to cross the border alone. So I was fixed on taking the Expressway or Chitoor NH75.Google Maps showed expressway as the faster route but it took via some 2 lane route so decided to take Chitoor route. As usual Bangalore traffic was heavy in Old Madras Road and finally crossed the KR Puram Market stretch by 7:45 PM.From Hoskote to Chitoor, route has many bridge constructions going on so have to take the slip road. But traffic was very less and crossed Chitoor by 10 PM. I have read the group messages that the Bommasamudram bridge is not recommended and I planned to take the Katpadi route from Chitoor.I followed Google Maps and missed the junction as I mistakenly put my end location in Google Maps.I found the road barricaded with a small way open and didn’t see any vehicles. So I was reversing and then found Multiple Bolero trucks came and took the narrow road.I was curious and followed those three trucks. The railway gate was open and we crossed the place without issues. Then there was a narrow passage where only one jeep or car can go, luckily no other vehicle was there in the opposite side and phew luckily we crossed this stretch without problem. From there joined the Six Lane Highway and only the Ocheri slip road had slow moving traffic but no other major bottlenecks.Took the Kanchipuram Walajabad Chengalpatu road and reached by 11:50 PMOverall 5:30hrs is great run despite spending around 1hr 30 minutes inside Bangalore.Return:I started around 8:15 AM from Mahindra World City and the Kanchipuram Walajabad Chengalpatu was having lots of bikes and slow moving vehicles. Reached the six lane highway around 9:15 AM.I decided to take the Expressway since it was a morning journey.Lost around 10 minutes in Ocheri stretch since it was merging from 3 Lane to 1 Lane due to construction. Then another 10 minutes in Ranipet and near vellore for another 2 Bridge construction. It was painful to travel from Ocheri to Pallikonda toll during the day.Stretch between Pallikonda – Gudiyatham – Pernambut is two lane with low traffic but many two wheelers.Reached Pernambut by 11:30 AMThen the small Hill stretch and there was truck traffic but once after crossing Ghat stretch it was smooth until V.Kota.Finally hit the expressway by 12:10 PMExpressway was smooth and exited near Hoskote around 12:55 PMLuckily Bengaluru traffic was not bad since it was weekend and reached Indiranagar by 2 PMSo Expressway trip during day with low Bangalore traffic took – Around 5:45 hrs With High Bangalore traffic during night via Chitoor – Around 5:30 hrs Read BHPian comments for more insights and information.
