The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced extensive traffic diversions and restrictions in view of the Saddula Bathukamma celebrations scheduled for September 30.
The procession will begin from Amaraveerula Smaraka Sthupam and conclude at Bathukamma Ghat near Rotary Children’s Park on Upper Tank Bund.
The restrictions will be in place from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Traffic congestion is expected around Upper Tank Bund and Necklace Road, with traffic either being stopped or diverted at several key points depending on the situation.
Traffic coming towards Tank Bund from Telugu Thalli junction and Karbala Maidan will not be allowed during the restricted hours. Vehicles from Iqbal Minar will be diverted at the start of the flyover towards Telugu Thalli flyover and further through Katta Maisamma, DBR Mills, Indira Park, Gandhinagar and RTC Cross Roads. Motorists from VV Statue heading towards NTR Marg will be diverted at Necklace Rotary towards Prasads IMAX and Mint Compound Lane. Traffic from Nallagutta junction towards Buddha Bhavan will be diverted towards Ranigunj and Necklace Road.
Similarly, traffic from Liberty towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at Ambedkar Statue towards Iqbal Minar and via Telugu Thalli junction to the Telugu Thalli Flyover. Vehicles from Secunderabad will be diverted at Karbala Maidan through Bible House, Jabbar Complex, Kawadiguda, Gandhinagar, Goshala, Dhobhi Ghat, Bandamaisamma, Indira Park, Katta Maisamma and onwards to Telugu Thalli flyover. Vehicles from Musheerabad and Kawadiguda towards Children’s Park and Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at DBR Mills towards MRO Office, Dhobhi Ghat, Swimming Pool, Bandamaisamma, Indira Park and Katta Maisamma.
RTC buses will also follow alternative routes. All inter-district buses from Secunderabad towards MGBS will be diverted from Sweekar Upakar junction via YWCA, Sangeeth, Mettuguda, Tarnaka, Nallakunta, Fever Hospital crossroads, Barkatpura, Nimboli Adda and Chaderghat before reaching MGBS. City buses will be diverted from Karbala Maidan via Bible House, Jabbar Complex, Kawadiguda crossroads, Gandhinagar, Goshala, Dhobhi Ghat, Bandamaisamma, Indira Park, Katta Maisamma and onwards to the Telugu Thalli flyover.
