Vijayawada: In some good news for small contractors ahead of the Dasara festival, the state govt has decided to release pending dues to contractors who executed small-scale works up to Rs 5 crore between 2014 and 2019. It will also clear dues for those contractors who executed works worth up to Rs 5 lakh from 2019 to the present date in the state. Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu ordered the finance department to take necessary measures in this regard on Tuesday.On the occasion, the finance department initiated the payment process to pay nearly Rs 400 crore worth of pending amounts into the contractors’ accounts, which are expected to be credited into their bank accounts in the next 48 hours.
