BHPian naveen4477 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: The journey, via the Shiradi-Mangalore route, was mostly smooth except for a 30-minute jam near Donigal at the start of the ghats. This delay was caused by two broken-down, heavily laden trucks, which resulted in significant traffic congestion due to drivers entering the wrong lane. Police eventually helped clear it. The return trip from Mangalore to Bengaluru on September 29th took 5 hours and 45 minutes (8:45 am to 2:30 pm). Experienced slow-moving traffic again at the exact same spot. This time, the issue was a truck stuck in mud, restricting flow to one-way alternating traffic. Fortunately, NHAI personnel were handy, directing the traffic and preventing chaos. A recurring concern is the vulnerability of the terrain near Marenahalli and Donigal towards Sakleshpura, which is highly prone to land/mud slides.
