Hyderabad: Three people were swept away in swollen streams in separate incidents across the state. Authorities have launched a search to trace them.An 18-year-old student, Chanakya from Kukatpally, was swept away by the strong current while bathing in the Krishna river near the Anjaneyaswamy pushkar ghat at Nagarjunasagar on Tuesday. Chanakya and five of his friends reportedly got into the water for a swim and take photographs. Police and rescue teams launched a search for him.In another incident, a 30-year-old man, Mangali Ramesh from Sayapuram village in Adyakula mandal in Mahabubnagar, was swept away while attempting to cross a swollen stream between Isnavalli and Kokkedu villages. Another woman was rescued by locals, pulling her out of the water using ropes. However, Ramesh got swept away on Tuesday. Expert swimmers and officials launched a search operation to locate him.In Sangareddy district, a 31-year-old man, Atti Lokachandra, from Ondinagar colony in Andole mandal, got washed away in the Manjira river near the Shivampet bridge in Patancheru mandal on Tuesday. The river is in spate after 11 gates of the Singur Project were lifted to release floodwater from Karnataka and Maharashtra. Police launched a search operation with rescue teams, but couldn’t trace Lokachandra until late in the night.In another incident in Nagarkurnool district, a bullock cart was swept away by surging floodwater in the Kammireni stream near Nagulapalli village in Koderu mandal. Two bullocks were washed away in the incident. A man, Bhojju Venkataswamy, and his wife, Adimma, who were in the bullock cart, were rescued by locals.The first warning has been in force at Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem district as the Godavari water level at 7pm on Wednesday was 44.40 feet (ft) against the first warning level of 43 ft.
