The highly anticipated prequel, Kantara Chapter 1, has released yesterday with huge anticipation. The movie did not create much anticipation with teaser or trailer but it changed that with premieres. The talk from the premieres has been positive and the ticket sales increased by a huge level on the release day.
The Dussehra festival day further helped it to create an unprecedented rush at the box office. It sold a monumental 1.28 Million tickets on the first day on Book My Show. Reportedly, the movie has collected Rs.84 crores gross worldwide with Rs.75 crores gross in India and Rs.8.5 -9 crores gross in Overseas.
On the second day, the movie is selling tickets at 70k per hour and the collections are said to be on par with Day 1. Kantara’s success has helped the movie to gain huge release in every area and even in Telugu States, Mythri Movie Makers have secured a wide release for the movie.
Rishab Shetty’s performance and overpowered the mistakes in screenplay state critics. Trade analysts are expecting the movie to continue its huge run till the first weekend and it is set to cross Rs.200 crores gross worldwide by the end of first weekend.
