Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan shifts focus to local body elections

Vijayawada: Deputy chief minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan shifted his focus towards the upcoming local body elections, gearing up to launch a district-wide tour soon to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. In a recent legislative party meeting at the Jana Sena headquarters in Mangalagiri, Pawan outlined a detailed roadmap for party consolidation and effective governance.Emphasising a ‘trident strategy’ to strengthen organisation, Pawan said, “Steps should be taken in a planned manner to fortify the party. We will soon announce the detailed procedures, and everyone must implement them at the field level.” He directed ministers from Jana Sena, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs to take personal responsibility for at least five constituencies each, maintaining close contact with local cadres and citizens. Pawan asked MLAs to encourage youth leadership and said that they will be given top priority in upcoming local body elections.Highlighting the importance of connecting with youth and women, Pawan stated, “We must understand their aspirations and prioritise their development, welfare, and empowerment.” He instructed representatives to monitor implementation of govt schemes, road and infrastructure development, and economic upliftment of women, while also forming issue-specific committees that must submit reports within six weeks.Pawan urged leaders to engage with the Millennial and Gen Z generations, calling them ‘the backbone of Jana Sena.’ Pawan remarked, “They observe everything keenly—they know how many crores were wasted by the previous govt on Rushikonda Palace. We must ensure it is put to proper use.”
