Chennai: The penultimate round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2025 is back at the magnificent Madras International Circuit with 150+ entries across various categories from 3rd-5th Oct’25. The rain gods were not so kind this time around, pouring out at full swing, making the track conditions tough for the racers. This is a crucial phase where every point earned ensures the racer’s Championship dream.

Hyderabad racer Rajender Beedani of Motorsports Academy of India (formerly known as Race’ists Motorcycle Club), competing in the Stock 165cc Novice category, clocked in the fastest lap of this season at 2min 7.108sec in the qualifying session on Friday and took the pole position for the upcoming races.

In both Race-1 & Race-2, Rajender had a great launch from the start line and quickly got into a commanding position. He had a wonderful fight with Lal Nunsanga (Aizwal) till the very last corner of the final lap. The duo exchanged their positions multiple times over the course of 6 laps, with Lal leading the race in the last lap. Rajender exhibited great composure, tailing Lal closely, trying to analyse his weak points and made his best move over Lal in the last corner of the last lap of the race and emerged victorious, completing Race-1 in 1st position. This puts Rajender firmly in the 1st position in the overall Championship with 1 more round to go.

Rajender said the weather conditions were really tricky and challenging this weekend. The track was wet and there were puddles of water everywhere, not letting us take the regular racing line. Fortunately, things got better by the time of the qualification session, and I am very happy to clock in the fastest lap of this season and secure pole position. This gave me a lot of confidence to keep my Championship dream alive. I had a great launch of the line in both races and quickly got into a fight with Lal. We exchanged our positions multiple times over the course of the race. I made a mistake in turn 8, and Lal quickly took advantage of that, leading the race. At this point, I don’t want to make another mistake which would cost me my championship, so I was following Lal closely, trying to analyse his weak points. In the last corner of the last slab, Lal vends slightly wide, and I took advantage of that by picking the inside line and finished the race in first position.

Another racer from Hyderabad, Rahil Pillarisetty of Team RACR Castrol Power1 team competing in the Pro-stock 301-400cc category (premier class) secured 2nd position in the qualifying session on Friday with a very good lap time of 1min 48.084sec around the 4km Madras International Circuit giving him a fair chance to capitalise on the 11 points lead he has over his arch rival Sarthak Chavan (Pune) of the mighty Petronas TVS Racing team

In Race-1, Rahil had an amazing launch from the starting grid and quickly got into a strong battle with the defending champion Sarthak Chavan (Pune) & Rakshith Dave (Chennai) from the mighty Petronas TVS Racing team. They were also joined by Rajini Krishnan (Multiple times National Champion), Chiranth Vishwanath (Chennai) and Allwin Xavier (Trichy) in an intense battle where things took a complete turn in the back straight section of the track. Rajini made a block pass move over the defending champion, Sarthak, in turn,8, which slightly disrupted his rhythm and gave Rahil that much-needed space to run away from the pack. From there on, Rahil carried a superior pace consistently clocking 1min 48sec laps for the rest of the race and comfortably secured 1st position in Race-1.

In Race-2, Rahil didn’t have a great launch but quickly got into a fight with Sarthak. From there on, he started unleashing his full potential by displaying superior racecraft and built a gap with Sarthak and the rest of the pack. In this hot pursuit for victory, Rahil has broken the previous lap record and established a new all-time lap record of this category at 1min 47.392, setting the standard extremely high. Rahil finished Race-2 with ease in 1st position, thereby further extending his lead in the overall Champions and firmly laying both his hands on the trophy.

Rahil said this weekend was really tough as the weather conditions continuously changed due to rain. I made sure I gave my 200% to win both the races and extend my points in the Championship. There was a high-tension environment not only on the track but also off the track in my head. I couldn’t sleep the night before, thinking about the upcoming races and my strategy to win them. I’m really happy with my overall performance this weekend and thank my father and my team for all the support.

Another Racer from Hyderabad, Mohammed Samrul Zubair of Motul Sparks Racing Team, competing in the Super Stock 165cc Intermediate category and TVS Apache RR310 Expert category, didn’t have a great qualifying session due to technical issues on both his bikes.

In Race-1 of the TVS Apache RR310 Expert category, Zubair started from 7th position and quickly got into a battle with the local boy, Balaji. The duo had an intense fight, exchanging positions almost in every alternate corner for 3rd position. At one point, the race leader, Abdul Basim (Chennai) crashed, and Zubair was in 2nd position. The battle between Zubair and Balaji went till the last corner of the last lap, where Zubair made a minor mistake with his braking and had to settle for 3rd position in Race-1. In Race-2, Zubair started from 3rd position and was involved in a breathtaking battle with Mohan Babu (Chennai) right from the first lap. This time around, he avoided the mistakes of the first race and comfortably secured 2nd position in Race 2

In Race 1 of the superstock 165cc Intermediate category, Zubair started from the back of the grid. He had a fantastic launch off the line and quickly got into a fight with the top bunch. With his stunning race pace, Zubair has overtaken all the other racers by turn 8 and was leading the race. He had a tough battle with Kamal Nawaz and Rajkumar till the last lap of the race. By far, this was the best race performance exhibited by Zubair in this season by unleashing his beast mode, but unfortunately, Juber made a mistake with his braking marker in the last corner of the last lap and crashed out of Race-1. But he had a brilliant comeback in Race 2, where he again started from the back of the grid, but this time he was determined to finish the race in a decent position, as he knew he had the pace for the race. Zubair had a good fight with Balaji (Chennai) for 3rd position till the end of the race and completed Race-2 in 4th position.

Noteworthy mentions go to Motorsports Academy of India (formerly known as Race’ists Motorcycle Club), a Hyderabad-based two-wheel racing academy that put 3 of its racers, Rajender Beedani, Akarsh Jangam & Pothu Vignesh on the podium in the Stock 165cc Novice category and two other racers, Lupin Rao Takkallapalli & Raivat Dhar in the Stock up to 301-400cc category
