The bye-election to Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency will be conducted on November 11 and the results will be declared on November 14. Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, announced the dates along with the schedule of the Bihar elections on Monday (October 6, 2025).
There are a total of 3.99 lakh voters in the constituency, including 2.07 lakh male, 1.91 lakh female voters. The ruling Congress, principal opposition party Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are eyeing the seat vacated due to the Untimely Demise of Brs MLA Maganti Gopinath. His wife Maganti Suneetha will be the BRS candidate while the Congress and BJP are yet to announce their candidate. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is so far silent on its interest in the election.
After intense deliberations with the AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the Congress has formed a three-member committee to finalise the name.
Congress is seeing intense competition for the ticket with former Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, former MP M Anjan Kumar Yadav, Naveen Yadav, who contested earlier as MIM candidate, and C.N. Reddy trying their luck. The party will send these names to the high command for clearance.
BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao also appointed a three-member committee of party leaders to gather opinions of various leaders on the candidate. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi recently asked people to choose a ‘young, local candidate’.
