Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad inaugurates new facilities on 62nd anniversary | Hyderabad News


Hyderabad: On account of the 62nd anniversary of the Nehru Zoological Park (NZP) and the 71st World Wildlife Week celebrations on Monday, a series of new facilities were inaugurated on the zoo premises. The facilities that were inaugurated include a new canteen called Simba, a new enclosure for the zebras that were brought into the zoo, and a nighthouse for all the bears. The facilities were inaugurated by C Suvarna, principal chief conservator of forests (HOFF), who was also the chief guest for the event. Other dignitaries, including Elusing Meru, principal chief conservator of forests (PCCF), director of NZP Sunil S Hiremath, and other officials were also in attendance.Speaking at the event, Suvarna said NZP has one of the best animal enclosures among zoos in the country, and the zebra enclosure is just the latest to be added to the list.“The zoo is attracting more than 25 lakh visitors every year. Three zebras were brought from Gujarat, and I’m confident that their arrival will attract more visitors,” said Suvarna.
