Hyderabad: The Osmania University police arrested a physiotherapist turned house burglar and recovered 14.5 tulas of stolen gold ornaments from his possession on Tuesday.

The suspect, M Bala Dheeraj (30), a physiotherapist from Nacharam, had earlier been involved in a theft attempt in 2013. On September 27, while a family from Tarnaka was away at the airport, he broke into their house and stole gold jewellery and Rs 10,000 cash.

Following a complaint, the OU police booked a case and, with the help of scientific clues, identified and arrested Dheeraj from Tarnaka on October 6. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime, and the stolen gold was recovered intact.
