Lokesh holds meetings with CEOs of top companies, urges them to invest in AP

Vijayawada: As part of the govt’s ongoing bid to attract more investments to the state, IT and HRD minister Nara Lokesh held meetings with top executives of several companies in Mumbai on Monday. He met the CEOs of Tata Group, including Tata Power Renewables, India Hotels, Tata Elxsi, Tata AutoComp, Tata Advanced Systems, Tata Chemicals, Tata Projects, and Tata Electronics, along with group chairman Natarajan Chandrasekharan.Proposing various investment opportunities to the CEOs of Tata Group, Lokesh asked Tata Power Renewables to set up a solar module manufacturing plant, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, and to collaborate with the state govt in promoting rooftop solar systems. During his meeting with Tata Elxsi CEO, Lokesh requested the establishment of an engineering centre on the east coast. He sought to explore possibilities for setting up centres of excellence in software defined vehicles, autonomous systems, electric vehicles, battery technologies, UAV, Gen AI-based mobility, and Med-tech innovation.Lokesh offered plug-and-play infrastructure to the CEO of Tata AutoComp for setting up electric vehicle components and composite manufacturing units. Stating that the state govt is offering attractive incentives depending on the size of the investment, he advocated the establishment of defence and aerospace manufacturing units by Tata Advanced Systems. Lokesh offered land to Tata Electronics for setting up an OSAT facility anywhere in the state, depending on their choice. The CEO of Tata Chemicals was urged to set up a soda ash production facility in the salt lands near Machilipatnam or Mulapeta ports. Lokesh also met the chairman of Rustomjee Group, Biman Irani, and invited him to explore possibilities to develop a luxury township in Visakhapatnam. He said with the arrival of top companies and data centres, there will be an increased demand for luxury houses in Visakhapatnam in the near future. He also invited HP Inc MD Ipsita Das to set up a 3D printing centre of excellence in Andhra Pradesh. He explained the incentives being offered by the state govt under the electronics manufacturing policy and the facilities available in Tirupati, which is emerging as an electronics manufacturing hub.The IT minister also invited ESR Group to develop industrial parks in AP. He explained the plug-and-play industrial parks being developed by the state govt at three locations, each extending over 1,000 acres. He also sought to explore opportunities to set up a logistics park at Visakhapatnam and Kakinada ports. During his meeting with Trafigura India CEO Sachin Gupta, Lokesh requested the establishment of logistics parks in AP and the setting up of a community trading desk in Visakhapatnam. He also invited ST Telemedia Global Data Centre to establish an AI-ready data centre campus in Visakhapatnam.
