Drove 656 kms (45% highway and 55% city) averaging 11.3 kmpl @ 26.3 kmph (320d at equivalent kmph gave 15.6 kmpl) May’25, Jun’25 and Jul’25 Review: These 3 months involved 100% highway driving in Bangalore averaging 128 kms per month and 8.1 kmpl @ 15.4 kmph (320d at equivalent kmph gave 10.9 kmpl). Mere 2.8 kmpl difference between 330Li and 320d within city is pretty good. Aug’25 Review: Aug’25 leg included a BLR-CBE drive. Drove 547 kms (55% highway and 45% city) averaging 12.3 kmpl @ 30.4 kmph (320d at equivalent kmph gave 16.9 kmpl) Sep’25 Review: Sep’25 included a CBE-BLR drive. Drove 581 kms (53% highway and 47% city) averaging 12.2 kmpl @ 30.6 kmph (320d at equivalent kmph gave 16.9 kmpl) Since factory average is 11.9 kmpl @ 29.3 kmph (320d at equivalent kmph gave 16.3 kmpl). An overall 4.4 kmpl difference between 330Li and 320d is much better than their ARAI rated difference of 7.28 kmpl. With the Honeycomb front grill in the iDrive, 330Li it looks like an M340i. The difference between tank 2 tank (Fuelio) and iDrive reading is around 0.76 kmpl. It was 0.58 kmpl on the 320d, so iDrive readings on 330Li are reasonably accurate. Other stats from Fuelio App: Rising cost/km owing to largely city driving: I keep logging the kmph during each tank full to compare relative impact of traffic conditions over the years or any impact on mileage due to E20 fuel. I presume E20 blending in XP95 started around mid-2025 but I haven’t noticed any major degradation in mileage. Fuelio automatically captures trip log for every trip. This would be useful to track kmph for those who don’t have a connected app for their car. Drive from Service centre to Home: Grey Hulk 1st Service : 6621 km on 13/9/25 Since I had taken 3 year BSI (Rs.63000/- for 3 years) while booking the car, my first service cost was Nil. They replaced Engine oil change, oil filter, air filter and micro filter. Their internal billing amount to BMW was approx Rs.26000/-. If I had not taken BSI it would have costed me Rs.32000/-. BSI offers nearly 35% savings. As per latest pricelist it is Rs.54000/- for 3 years which makes even more sense for people who drive less and don’t need BSI Plus. Measurements taken on 13/9/25: Brake disc: FL – 23.6 mm (New is 24 mm) FR – 23.6 mm (New is 24 mm) RL – 19.7 mm (New is 20 mm) RR – 19.7 mm (New is 20 mm) Brake pad: FL – 10.5 mm (New is 12 mm) FR – 10.5 mm (New is 12 mm) RL – 10 mm (New is 11 mm) RR – 10 mm (New is 11 mm) Tread thickness: FL – 5.83 mm (Was 6.49 mm during PID) FR:5.99 mm; (Was 6.49 mm during PID) RL:5.75mm; (Was 6.53 mm during PID) RR:5.79 mm (Was 6.50 mm during PID) During the first year, I used to drive in Eco Pro even in city because of the unrestrained floaty driveability (like Level 0 Regen in an EV) it offered over Comfort mode. However, what I have a noticed is that I tend to use the brake more often in city traffic (even if I try to use Paddle shifter to decelerate). Comfort mode offers some level of Engine braking like Regen 1/2 which is ideal for Bangalore city driving. I am have been using Comfort mode from Sep 15th. I use the brake a lot lesser now and I have also noticed a slightly better mileage in city routes (needs more tracking though). Eco pro is good for highway coasting combined with Sport mode for those occasional bursts. Thanks to @sunikkat, I renewed my insurance with Bajaj Allianz with nearly 90% discount at 50.5L IDV. I renewed it 2 months prior to insurance expiry and got a good offer of Rs.57900/- Today I filled BPCL Normal Petrol (RON 95 & E20) for Rs.102.96/- instead of IOCL XP95 (Rs.110.24) since I have the SBI Octane BPCL card. Moreover, normal petrol is also RON 95 with E20 blending, as confirmed by BPCL Sales officer. So, why not save some money. Will observe the performance and mileage periodically. If there is any degradation, I will start filling Speed Petrol, which is also RON 95 & E20 with some additives included. Overall happy with the first year performance! Grey Hulk is raring to go after the annual service and a nice water wash! Cheers!Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
