Hyderabad: Reacting to the Supreme Court dismissing a writ petition challenging the allocation of 42% reservation for BCs in local body elections, T BJP chief N Ramchander Rao on Monday said the apex court’s decision stemmed from the existence of a related case still pending in the Telangana high court. He underscored the legal norm that the apex court typically directs petitioners to first address their arguments in the appropriate lower court when a similar case is already under consideration.Rao slammed the Congress ministers, saying that they embarked on a dramatic display, travelling from Hyderabad to Delhi as though they were destined for a significant triumph. He lamented that such theatrics overshadowed the pressing need for genuine legal discourse. He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to securing 42% reservations for BCs, and challenged the Congress, urging it to demonstrate true sincerity by rigorously presenting robust legal arguments, backed by expert lawyers, in the high court to advocate for justice on behalf of the BC community.
