Nellore: Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana has said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide basic needs to the people.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the modernised fish market with Rs 20 lakh at Venugopala Nagar in the city on Sunday, the Minister said that earlier people used to visit individual shops to purchase fish in the market and traders(women) who used to carry out business faced serious problems due to lack of basic infrastructure facilities.

The minister said that following several appeals from the public and traders, he has ordered the officials to prepare estimates for providing basic amenities.
He said that it was proposed to construct vegetable market in 19 acres of land with all facilities in the city very soon. Party leaders and officials were present.
