New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon.
He is currently in the middle of his third stint with the Patriots, and he is content with the stability that it brings to his family. That still didn’t stop one reporter from asking if he’d be content with coaching Patriots quarterback Drake Maye for the rest of his career. Or, does he aspire for another head coaching opportunity one day?
“I love living in New England. That’s the short of it,” said McDaniels, via Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed. “I just try to focus on now, really enjoying coaching for Mike. …That would be surprising if I moved my kids out of Westwood.”
McDaniels is currently leading a Patriots offense centered around Maye, who is already off to a strong start to the season with 1,261 passing yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions.
The offense as a whole looks significantly better under McDaniels than it has looked in years. He’s one of the great offensive minds that the team would do well to keep for as long as possible.
