Toyota Innova Hycross non-hybrid: Owner shares his views on mileage BHPian CarguyNish recently shared this with other enthusiasts: I have been driving a Toyota Innova Hycross non-hybrid for the last 18 months. Here’s my input on its mileage.Fuel economy of any car is purely based on how one drives.NA engines are more efficient, even though some turbo engines have higher claimed efficiency.Turbo petrols are very sensitive to fuel and driving style.Turbo diesels are way more efficient. I miss them in new cars, especially the 2.0 TDI from VW.I don’t believe the displayed figures on MID. Tankful method always gives the best results.I get about 9 kmpl inside the city, on highways I get 15-18 kmpl depending on load and the speeds I drive.Usually, I get 18 kmpl (2 people on board), 15 kmpl (4-5 people) and 13.5 kmpl (7 people). All figures are with 100% AC.Speeds at which I have achieved these figures are at 105-115 kmph, I rarely drive under 90 kmph.Tankful method yields me a range of 570-590 kms (100% Highway usage). Mixed usage will drop this range by 80 kms.This 2.0 Petrol is very relaxed at speeds between 90-110 kmph. I usually found the engine speed at 1400-1700 rpm.Rear AC usage will reduce the mileage due to the presence of the 2nd evaporator coil for the 2nd and 3rd row.As mentioned by other BHPians, tyre pressure plays an important role and I always maintain 33-34 PSI.The Hybrid variant definitely scores when it comes to city efficiency. So, if someone who predominantly drives inside the city, the hybrid variant is a better bet and worth the premium price.
