Two persons were arrested by the Special Zonal Crime Team of the Hyderabad Central Crime Station and Falaknuma Police for illegally possessing a country-made pistol on Tuesday (October 7, 2025).
The accused, identified as Vijay Yadav, 25, a resident of Lingampally, and Bunty Kumar Yadav, 22, of Santosh Nagar, both fruit vendors working in local wine shops and bars, were found carrying a 0.7 mm weapon and two mobile phones. Both are natives of Jharkhand had migrated to Hyderabad for work. According to the police, Vijay had purchased the pistol from one Sonu Kumar, a resident of Bihar, about three months ago for ₹58,000 with the intention of selling it for profit.
Investigations revealed that the two accused had attempted to sell the weapon to anti-social elements by showing them pictures of the firearm. A case was booked, and efforts are underway to trace the third accused Sonu. The police warned that anyone found in illegal possession of arms or weapons should surrender them at their nearest police station, as strict surveillance and action are being maintained against anti-social elements across Hyderabad.
