BHPian gurminder_81 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Last week we covered Varanasi -> Bengaluru route. Here are the details Friday, 3rd Oct, Day 1: Varanasi to Nagpur 08:00 AM: We started from Varanasi in a relaxed manner after having bf from the hotel as we had plans to stay at Jabalpur and cover Bedhaghat: boating + temple + falls visit. We even had a hotel booked. We reached Bedhaghat, Jabalpur by 3:00 PM. Visited the Chousath Yogini Temple and covered the Dhuandhar Falls, however, the boating was closed due to water level. Did some shopping and were ready to leave by 4:15 PM. Since, we did not had any other plans to do anything, so we decided to push for Nagpur. Gmaps was showing close to 5hrs drive time with an ETA of 9:15 PM. We took the chance and stepped up on gas till the time any daylight was there. Ultimately we could hit Nagpur city by 8:20 PM, booked a hotel and checked into it by 8:45 PM and slept after having dinner by 10 PM or so. Road Conditions: From Varanasi city till Mirzapur via Aurai, the roads were not in great shape: sometime broken, sometimes single lane, truck traffic, railway crossings and we made slow progress. From Mirzapur till Varanasi, the roads are at least 4 lane toll passing through Rewa city where we took a quick tea/snack break. Less truck traffic and even less private car traffic.Total distance covered: 799 kms hotel to hotel via Bedhaghat.Total Time: 8:00 AM -> 8:45 PMTotal Breaks: 3 (30 mins, 1 hr 15 min, 15 mins)Saturday, 4th Oct, Day 2: Nagpur to Bengaluru (Sarjapur Main Rd Area) 6:36 AM: We knew this was going to be a long drive so we started a little early after being well rested and after a good night’s sleep. The roads were literally empty and we used cruise control to the maximum. We took a break after 4 hrs and covered a cool 380 kms during that time. Finished breakfast and fuel reload within ~45 mins to continue our journey ahead. We made good progress towards Hyderabad till we hit Medchal. The last 10-12 kms in Medchal before entering Nehru ORR is a slow stretch with unfinished flyover, broken roads, diversions and all traffic gets halted there. We entered Nehru ORR and again made good use of cruise control within speed limits and exited onto Bengaluru road exactly at 1 PM. From Nehru ORR exit till Jadcherla the progress was slow with truck traffic and heavy local traffic. One has to simply follow the slow road speed. Post Jadcherla, the roads open up, traffic became much thinner and we could again gain some momentum and speed. We kept munching snacks in the car so that we could take a late lunch break. We eventually stopped at Pista House, Kurnool for a decent Biriyani lunch. Had to wait for some time to get the table, again some wait time for food to arrive and then spent 10 mins walking around to do some relaxation exercises. After a good ~1 hour break time we continued our journey towards Bengaluru. We crossed Anantapur with still some daylight left, soon after we reduced our speed considerably as daylight was fading. Took the final dinner break at A2B after crossing Devanahalli at around 9 PM, which also gave us a chance to avoid Sat night city traffic. After a quick bite, we started at 9:35 PM and reached home base at 10:41 PM. Road Conditions:10-12 kms Medchal -> Nehru ORR Entry was not so great.~50 Kms Nehru ORR Exit -> Jadcherla. Slow progress, bumps, heavy traffic.Standard Bengaluru city traffic from Hebbal to Sarjapur Main rd.No other major concerns anywhere.Total distance covered: 1106 KmsTotal time: 6:36 AM -> 10:41 PMTotal Breaks: 3 (45 mins, 1hour, 35 mins)Check out BHPian comments for more insights an information.
