BHPian MileCruncher recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Last week Tuesday I was supposed to travel to Silvassa. Given the road situation, I decided to take the bike. Monday afternoon I went down to parking to take the bike for some washing and TLC. The moment the ignition turned on, lo and behold, this sign came in. Seeing this, my heart skipped a beat and so many thoughts cropped up. Posted on the BMW groups immediately and in 5 minutes the Thane service center manager called. Gave me a couple of tasks to do and update. In the interim, he also asked me to book the RSA. Thankfully quite a few fellow BMW riders from F900XR to R1250/R1300 / S1000 riders shared their similar screenshot. Gave some confidence. The RSA came in 60 mins and bike got loaded and headed to Thane workshop because they had the part and Kalina didn’t. Doesn’t the bike look bigger than the tempo. Turns out it was the throttle sensor that had conked off. And it happens due to moisture. And apparaently there was a recall for this. Anyways the part was replaced under warranty. Apparently the part has been re-engineered due to this failure. Bike was back in 24 hours and is happy. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
