Four transgender persons, who allegedly assaulted a female nurse at a private hospital, were arrested by the police in SPSR Nellore district on Wednesday.
According to the police, the incident happened in Kandukur on Tuesday. The four transgender persons entered a private hospital and demanded money. A nurse resisted them and reportedly threw a writing pad on one of them. In a fit of rage, four of them attacked the nurse.
A patient’s attendant in the hospital tried to stop the transgender persons, but they left the place after beating the nurse severely. The hospital management filed a complaint at Kandukur police station. Meanwhile, the CCTV footage of the attack has gone viral on social media.
A case was registered under sections 308 (5) (extortion committed by grievous hurt), 74 (assault against a woman), 329 (4) (trespass to commit an offence), 115 (2) (hurting), 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
