Rayalaseema gears up for PM Modi’s visit

Preparations are in full swing across Nandyal and Kurnool districts ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Andhra Pradesh on October 16. The district administration and police officials are overseeing the arrangements round-the-clock.

Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing Minister T.G. Bharath reviewed the arrangements at the public meeting venue near Ragamayuri, adjacent to the Nannuru Toll Gate in Kurnool, on Sunday. Mr. Bharath said that Prime Minister Modi would first offer prayers at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam, before proceeding to Kurnool to address a public meeting. The authorities at Srisailam temple are making elaborate arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit to one of the famous Jyothirlinga Keshtrams.

“The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various development projects in the Rayalaseema region, virtually. Officials have informed the government that a majority of the tasks have been completed ahead of schedule,” said Mr. Bharath.

Adoni sub-Collector, Maurya Bharadwaj, Kurnool Municipal Commissioner Vishwanath, and other senior officials from the revenue, panchayat raj, roads and buildings, and police wings took part in the inspections.

In Nandyal, Superintendent of Police Sunil D. Sheron inspected the helipad, temple surroundings, guest houses, and road routes in Srisailam. Speaking to the media, the SP said that special police teams, including Greyhounds and armed units, have already been deployed to scan the forest terrain around the temple. The entire Nallamala forest zone has been kept under close surveillance, with check-posts set up at all important intersections.

Meanwhile, the Kurnool Collector in a press release said that the regular Public Grievances Redressal System (PGRS) scheduled on October 13 (Monday) stands cancelled in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the district.
