SR University (SRU) in Warangal has secured a place in the 801-1000 band in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, marking its first-ever entry into the global rankings. It is also the youngest university in India to achieve a position in the global rankings, said SRU Chancellor A. Varadha Reddy.

Addressing a press conference on the campus on Saturday, Mr. Reddy said that SRU had been maintaining the highest standards of quality in teaching and learning. “We focus on equipping students with industry-ready skills and ensuring our faculty are well-qualified and dedicated to excellence,” he added.

This global recognition follows closely on the heels of the recently announced NIRF 2025 Rankings, in which SR University secured the 91st rank in the engineering category and was placed in the 101-150 band in the university category.

SR University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Deepak Garg stated that the ranking is a testament to SRU’s strong academic foundation and global outlook. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. V. Mahesh, Registrar Prof. P.V. Ramana Rao, Prof. P.V. Raja Shekar and Director-IQAC were among those present.
