BMW Group India continued its strong growth in calendar year 2025 and recorded best-ever sales of 11,978 cars and SUVs in the three quarters ended September. This is an annual growth of 13% compared to the same nine-month period last year, putting the brand on track to record another best year in terms of sales. 15,721 cars and SUVs were sold in the calendar year 2024.

Talking about sales breakdown, in 9 months the sales of BMW cars and SUVs were 11,510 units, while the sales of Mini were 468 units.

Sales in Q3 2025 stood at 4,204 units – up 21% over the previous year, and BMW has reported a significant improvement in demand following the GST 2.0 reforms. Individual brand sales in the quarter stood at 4,033 BMWs and 171 Minis. BMW also reported its best-ever sales for September 2025, although no sales figures were provided.
Strong demand for EV
BMW Group India continues to report strong demand for its electric vehicles in the Indian market and has recorded sales of 2,509 units across the BMW and Mini brands by September 2025. This represents a growth of 246% year-on-year, and electric vehicles account for 21% of all vehicles sold in the calendar year so far. Sales of electric vehicles in the July-September quarter totaled 1,187 units. BMW Group India has also reported crossing the sales mark of 5,000 electric vehicles in India in the third quarter of 2025.

In terms of individual sales, the iX1 remains the leader in BMW’s EV series, followed by the brand’s flagship electric sedan, the i7.
50% share in sales of long wheelbase cars; 3 series best selling sedan
BMW has also seen an increase in demand for its range of long wheelbase cars including the 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series/i7 and iX1. The company said that by the end of the third quarter of 2025, the share of long wheelbase models in all cars sold in the Indian market will be 50%, which was 47% by the end of the second quarter of 2025. Total sales in 9 months of 2025 stood at 5,720 units, which is 169% more than last year.

In the sedan market, the BMW 3 Series replaced the 5 Series as the company’s best-selling model, accounting for 16% of all cars sold for the year. Earlier, the 5 Series was leading BMW’s sedan sales charts till the first half of 2025.
19% increase in SUV sales

Talking about the SUV segment, the group registered a growth of 19% year-on-year and sold 7,040 units. SUVs accounted for 59% of the company’s total car sales, with the X1 at the top with over 30% sales share. Whereas, X7 remained at second place.
