Fire broke in a private electric appliances godown near Enikepadu village, on outskirts of Vijayawada on Monday (October 06).
Stocks of electric appliances, worth some lakhs of rupees were gutted in the fire mishap. However, no casualties were reported, said the AP State Disaster Response and Fire Services department officials.
“We received the call at 8.10 a.m. and six fire tenders from NTR and Krishna districts rushed to the spot. Flames were extinguished around 11.45 a.m.,” NTR District Fire Officer (DFO) A.V. Shankar Rao told The Hindu.
Some 30 fire services personnel were deployed to put out the flames after three hours. Reasons for cause of fire was not known immediately, the DFO, who participated in the operation, said.
Police and Revenue officials visited the godown in which fire accident occurred. A case has been registered and investigation is on, Mr. Shankar Rao said.
