Former Chief Minister and president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday handed over the B-Form to party candidate for the Jubilee Hills byelection Maganti Sunitha Gopinath along with a cheque for ₹40 lakh for election expenses.
Accompanied by her three children and city legislators P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, T. Padmarao Goud, K. Venkatesh Yadav, M. Gopal former MLA N. Bhaskar Reddy and others, Ms. Sunitha received the B-Form at the party president’s residence here.
Meanwhile, party leaders V. Srinivas Goud, T. Madhu and others criticised the Congress leaders, particularly ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar for making ‘cheap’ remarks against Ms. Sunitha for getting emotional during a party (BRS) meeting held at Rahamatnagar on Monday and terming it as acting.
The BRS leaders sought to know what was wrong in late Gopinath’s children participating in the campaigning along with their mother. They recalled that Mr. Nageswara Rao had won the Palair byelection on a BRS ticket by contesting against R. Sucharitha, wife of late Ramreddy Venkat Reddy. They sought to know whether the family members of any Minister or ruling party legislator would not get emotional, if they die.
