A man, aged about 40 and dressed in a black shirt and grey trousers, entered the coach despite her attempts to stop him. “The survivor told him that it was a ladies’ compartment, but he cited a tremendous rush in other coaches and requested her to let him inside the near-empty compartment for a short journey,” a railway police officer said.In her complaint, the survivor claimed that soon after entering the compartment, the accused latched the door from inside. “He then threatened the survivor with a knife and raped her. He punched her multiple times, leaving her with face and body injuries,” inspector B Sai Eshwar Goud of Secunderabad GRP said. “The perpetrator also robbed her of Rs 5,600 cash and her cellphone before jumping off the train as it slowed down while approaching Pedakurapadu station,” he added.Investigators were verifying CCTV footage at Guntur railway station to identify and arrest the accused.
