HYDRAA reclaims public park land in Rajendranagar

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Wednesday cleared multiple encroachments in Rajendranagar mandal of Rangareddy district, reclaiming valuable public land, estimated to be worth 139 crore. The operation focused on four parks in the Janachaitanya layout phases I and II, spread across Badvel and Upparapally villages. In total, HYDRAA recovered 19,878 square yards of land from encroachers. The Janachaitanya layout, covering around 120 acres and developed with HUDA (now HMDA) approval, witnessed illegal occupation of several designated park areas. Following multiple complaints lodged through the HYDRAA Prajavani grievance system, officials conducted field inspections along with revenue and municipal authorities to verify the encroachments before taking action.During the demolition drive, HYDRAA removed illegally constructed compound walls, sheds, and rooms on plots ranging between 500 and 3,000 square yards. Officials said the structures were encroaching upon areas reserved for public parks, depriving residents of recreational spaces. After clearing the encroachments, HYDRAA immediately began erecting fencing around the reclaimed park land to prevent future unauthorised occupation. The authority emphasised its commitment to protecting public spaces and ensuring that community parks remain accessible to residents. Local officials also urged citizens to report any illegal encroachments to maintain the integrity of public land parcels.
