Sardar@150 Unity March to Boost Patriotism Among Youth

Warangal: The Sardar@150 Unity March is a major national campaign commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The initiative aims to strengthen the spirit of unity, patriotism, and social responsibility among India’s youth, said Chintala Anvesh, deputy director of MY Bharat (Warangal unit), while addressing the media at a press meet held at the Press Club in Hanamkonda on Wednesday.

He stated that the campaign, launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports through its MY Bharat platform, aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of fostering public participation in nation-building. Its goal is to inspire the youth to imbibe the ideals of Ek Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat in their daily lives.

Anvesh explained that the nationwide campaign will be implemented in two phases following its digital launch by Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya on October 6. The first phase includes online activities such as social media contests, essay writing, and quiz competitions.

In the second phase, three-day padayatras covering 8-10 km will be organised in every district between October 31 and November 25. These events will also feature health camps, lectures on Sardar Patel’s life, debates, and a pledge for a drug-free India. State youth affairs ministers, local MPs, and district officials, in coordination with MY Bharat and NCC, will lead the marches.

A 152-km national march will follow from November 26 to December 6, from Sardar Patel’s birthplace at Karamsad to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia. The walk will include 150 pit stops highlighting India’s cultural diversity. One hundred fifty young leaders will join the Union minister, and evening sessions titled Sardar Gatha will feature scholars speaking about Patel’s life and legacy.

Anvesh added that campaign activities in the Warangal region are being jointly organised by MY Bharat Warangal, Kakatiya University, NIT Warangal, and Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences. He urged youth across the country to register and participate in this historic initiative through the MY Bharat portal at https://mybharat.gov.in/megaevents
