The Citroen Basalt has been awarded a 0-star rating by Latin NCAP. The SUV-coupe scored 15.75 points for adult occupant protection and 28.59 points for child occupant protection. In the frontal impact test, the Basalt offered good protection to the head and neck of the driver and passenger. The driver’s chest showed marginal protection, and the passenger’s chest showed weak protection. Knees of both occupants showed marginal protection, while tibias showed adequate protection. The head, abdomen, chest, and pelvis showed good protection in the side impact test. The side pole impact test was not performed, as the car does not offer standard side head protection airbags. The child seat for the 3-year-old child was capable of preventing head exposure and offered good protection. The child restraint system (CRS) prevented head exposure in the case of the 1.5-year-old child dummy, offering almost full protection. The CRS offered full protection to the 1.5-year-old in the side impact test as well.
