A good Neapolitan pizza is sometimes all you need to satisfy hunger pangs on a cheat day. And for those unfamiliar with the concept of cheat days, a casual visit to Nomme, Hyderabad, can easily turn into a fun meal with friends over coffee, kebabs, and maybe some Asian bites — think dumplings and sushi.

Located in Banjara Hills, Nomme is a casual dining restaurant by Imtiaz Ali Siddiqui, who also owns Levant, Gourmet Baklava, and Season’s Xpress.

Inside the space

The space itself feels open and inviting. Figurines of trotting horses greet you at the entrance, and the white-dominant interior keeps it bright throughout the day. Blue and brown seating adds warmth, while subtle touches of rose gold elevate the look. Think of it as an elegant, all-day-dining space.

The interiors follow a clean palette of white, gold and black with a touch of drama courtesy of its unique coffee theatre. Now, this is not a screen playing coffee documentaries. It is an actual sensory spectacle. With the pull of a lever, coffee beans are sent whizzing through transparent tubes that run across the ceiling, finally landing at the coffee station where your brew begins its journey. The aroma of freshly roasted beans fills the air.

I began my meal with a pizza — the perfect antidote to the torrential rain outside. There is something about biting into a hot pizza with that ideal mozzarella pull that makes you grateful for being indoors. The generous dollop of cream cheese on top was a delightful bonus.

Soon after, Imtiaz joined me and decided pizza wasn’t quite enough. Out came a hummus platter with three flavours — date and fig, walnut, and pistachio.

The heart of Nomme’s menu is Mediterranean, complemented by global favourites like dim sum and kebabs. The culinary team — chef Fatih, known for his mastery in Mediterranean desserts, and chef Hisham, who brings in authentic Levantine flavours — ensures a menu that flows seamlessly between mezze, wood-fired grills, and delicate pastries.

“Nomme is about energy,” says Imtiaz. “It’s about creating moments that feel alive — whether that’s watching beans fly through pipes, breaking bread with friends, or discovering flavours you didn’t expect. It’s a place to belong.”

Our table quickly filled up again — this time with a salmon steak, lamb brisket, Mediterranean kebabs, and dimsum. The salmon steak was a winner — buttery, perfectly cooked, and served with a fusion of garlic mayo and miso butter that complemented the fish beautifully. Of the two Mediterranean kebabs, one was spicy, the other buttery and garlicky — both succulent and flavourful. The lamb brisket, however, was a tad too dry, so I found myself returning to the pizza and kebabs.

Dessert here is a must. There is no shortage of baklava, and the cold baklava seems to be everyone’s favourite.

A meal for two will cost upwards of ₹350. The restaurant is at Banjara Hills, Road no 2.
