Maruti Suzuki’s new SUV, Victoris, has made a great debut. Launched on September 15, Maruti Suzuki Victoris has garnered over 25,000 bookings in just two weeks since its prices were announced. The company confirmed the news in its latest monthly sales call and also said that the waiting period for some variants of Victoris has increased to more than 10 weeks. However, Maruti did not reveal which variant currently has the highest waiting period.

The Victoris is mechanically related to the Grand Vitara.
Victoris has played an important role in making this Navratri the best ever for Maruti Suzuki. The company said that it has received more than 1.50 lakh bookings in the first eight days of this period and 1.65 lakh vehicles have been delivered, and the target is to deliver 2 lakh vehicles by Dussehra. Maruti also told that it currently has 2.50 lakh open bookings.

The new SUV essentially shares its engine with the Grand Vitara, but unlike the Grand Vitara – which is sold exclusively through Nexa outlets – the Victoris is available across Maruti’s larger Arena sales network. Victoris competes with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Honda Elevate.

Available with a choice of petrol, CNG and strong hybrid powertrains
The Victoris is available in 6 trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi(O), ZXi+ and ZXI+(O), with petrol, CNG and strong hybrid powertrain options available. The standard engine option is a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated, mild hybrid petrol engine that makes 101.6 bhp and 139 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic – the 6-speed torque converter automatic is also available with all-wheel drive. This engine is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit, but only a 5-speed manual transmission is available with it.
The Strong Hybrid Victoris comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine along with an onboard battery and electric motor. The petrol engine produces around 91.7 bhp and 122 Nm of torque, while the electric motor makes 79 bhp and 141 Nm of peak power. A CVT gearbox is available as standard for the Strong Hybrid variant.
