My Maruti Baleno crosses 1 lakh km mark on Noida-Kota-Noida road trip

My Maruti Baleno crosses 1 lakh km mark on Noida-Kota-Noida road trip BHPian MotoBlip recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Did a Noida-Kota-Noida run recently, so sharing a quick update for anyone planning the same route.Road ConditionsThe roads were great for the most part, except near Sawai Madhopur, where the NE4 is still under construction. Because of this, you have to take a bypass road towards the Laban-Kota section, and that stretch is an absolute disaster. The torture continues until you finally rejoin the NE4 after the bypass. The expressway otherwise seems to have undergone a lot of patchwork, and a few sections were closed off with safety cones for re-topping work. Honestly, it’s surprising how such a new expressway, touted as being built with “space tech,” is already under repair. That said, the ride felt much smoother and a lot less wavy compared to when I last did this route till Dausa about a year back.Car UpdateThe car officially crossed 1L km on this trip. I had planned to capture the moment, but somewhere along the way, I got too engrossed in my tunes and completely missed it. Well, it is what it is. The car continues to perform admirably and has seen no major repairs till now. All work so far has been for wear and tear parts only. The steering assembly was changed, and the tailgate struts were replaced after premature failure. These were the only replacements carried out under warranty while it was active. Suspension work was done in stages between 80,000 and 90,000 km. The stock tires were replaced around 45,000 km. The CVT oil and filter were changed at around 55,000 km and will be changed again soon when the car goes in for its 1,00,000 km service. Overall, pretty satisfied with the car so far. Also, I had cruise control installed before the trip by an accessory shop in Delhi. It’s not a straightforward DIY job since it needs additional wiring into the ECU, but no coding is required. Once the steering part is replaced and wiring done, all the set/resume and related functions work perfectly. This made the long drive far more relaxed and less fatiguing. Fuel EfficiencyOverall fuel efficiency for the round trip stood at 19.71 kmpl, as per the Fuelio app, against the MID indicated 19.9 kmpl, so fairly accurate. Speeds were mostly maintained between 90 and 100 kmph with auto AC set at 25 for the entire journey, except on the rough stretches where even 50 kmph felt like a task. The last 100 km of the journey took almost two hours thanks to bad roads and diversions. I genuinely believe the car can easily do 700+ km on a single tank, even though it’s a small one, if driven sanely. That’s really where these Maruti cars shine. Sharing some shots from the journey. Took a quick refreshment break at the viral McDonald’s. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
