BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has assured Padma Shri award winner Darshanam Mogilaiah that he would take the responsibility to get the issue of house site allotted to the Kinnera artiste (musician) and to get his eye treatment done.
Mr. Mogilaiah, who won the Padma Shri award in 2022 for continuing the tradition of playing 12-step Kinnera (a folk music instrument) and keeping the tradition alive, met Mr. Rama Rao here on Saturday and sought his help to protect the land allotted to him. He recollected that it was with the recognition and support of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao that he could get recognition at the national level.
After enquiring about Mr. Mogilaiah’s health condition, the BRS leader assured him that he would take the responsibility of getting his eyesight treated at the L.V. Prasad Institute here. Mr. Rama Rao enquired about the status of 600 square yards land allotted to Mr. Mogilaiah in Hayathnagar mandal in the past by speaking to Rangareddy District Collector C. Narayana Reddy.
Mr. Mogilaiah explained to Mr. Rama Rao that some individuals were trying to encroach the land allotted to him and they had even demolished a room constructed on the land and the walls raised as the fence. He further stated that he was also not getting the monthly pension of ₹10,000 regularly.
Mr. Rama Rao requested the Collector to ensure that encroachers did not harass Mr. Mogilaiah and protect his land and if necessary the BRS would extend legal support too.
