Nodal officers told to conduct regular inspections of all Anna Canteens

Guntur Municipal Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu directed the Akshaya Patra staff to maintain utmost cleanliness in and around Anna Canteens as the number of people availing meals continues to increase daily. The Commissioner inspected the Anna Canteen near Mirchi Yard on Saturday and interacted with beneficiaries before issuing specific instructions to the staff.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Srinivasulu said that nodal officers should conduct regular inspections of all Anna Canteens to ensure proper maintenance and improvement of basic amenities. He emphasised that any issues related to lighting, water taps, or repairs should be addressed immediately by the engineering officials.

The Commissioner also highlighted that citizens can share their feedback on food quality and other service issues by scanning the QR codes displayed at the canteens. He added that such real-time feedback would help improve efficiency and ensure transparency in the system.

Mr. Srinivasulu reiterated the civic body’s commitment to providing hygienic and affordable meals to the poor and urged all departments concerned to work in coordination for the smooth functioning of the scheme.
