Skoda India has expanded the Kodiaq line-up by launching a new Lounge variant priced at Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Lounge trim has now become the entry-level trim of the Kodiaq range, missing some features from the Sportline and Selection L&K trims, and is the only dedicated 5-seat variant in the SUV line-up. Talking about the price, the new variant is priced around Rs 3.77 lakh less than the Sportline.

In terms of looks, the Lounge can be identified by its simple looking single-tone Mazeno 18-inch alloy wheels. This variant also lacks dark trim elements like Sportline (gloss black) and Selection L&K (dark chrome). However, elements like all-LED lighting, roof rails and puddle lamps remain intact in this SUV.

Talking about the cabin, the Lounge gets new gray suede fabric upholstery with a smaller 10.4-inch touchscreen – which is smaller than the 12.9-inch touchscreen in the Sportline and Selection L&K. The Lounge also features a more basic 100W, 9-speaker sound system compared to the 725W, 13-speaker Canton system in the Sportline and Selection L&K.
In terms of comfort and features, the Lounge doesn’t have a powered front passenger seat – the driver’s seat is still power adjustable. However, both front seats still have a heating function. Apart from this, you also get features like three-zone automatic climate control, 10.25-inch digital instrument display, slide and recline function for the second row seat, rear window sunshade, keyless entry and go, powered tailgate (no hands-free function), and hands-free parking.
Mechanically, the new variant features the familiar 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
