Two years after the launch of its first model, electric two-wheeler startup Ultraviolette Automotive has now launched its second model for India – the X47 dual-purpose motorcycle. The starting price of the X47 is Rs.2.49 lakh, which is only for the first 1,000 buyers, after which the starting price will increase to Rs.2.74 lakh. The X47, dubbed a ‘crossover’ by the company, is based on the F77 platform but with some changes and additional features to suit the dual-use purpose of the motorcycle. Bookings for the X47 have now started online, and Ultraviolette has promised that it will start delivering the motorcycle in October 2025.

In terms of powertrain, the X47 is almost identical to the F77, with the same 10.3 kWh battery pack and 40 hp of peak power. Ultraviolette claims 0-60 km/h acceleration in 2.7 seconds, 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds and a top speed of 145 km/h, making the X47 slightly slower than the F77. However, the most expensive model has the same range, which is up to 323 kilometers (IDC).

One of the highlights of the Ultraviolette X47 is its Advanced Rider Assistance System package, which is available as standard on this motorcycle. Called ‘UV HyperSense’, the system uses a 77Ghz rear-facing radar with a 150-degree view and tracking distance of up to 200 meters to detect blind spots. This adaptive system also has narrow lane detection, object detection and tracking, and enables functions like blind spot detection (with overtake alert), lane change assist and rear collision warning.

The motorcycle is also fitted with front and rear cameras, which effectively act as dashcams, and a second display above the main instrument cluster to relay the feed from these cameras.
Another unique feature of the X47 is its 1.6kW onboard charger, which eliminates the need for riders to carry a portable charger.
