The 2025 Diwali season proved to be quite fruitful for Tata Motors as the carmaker delivered over 1 lakh units (including ICE, EVs & CNGs) during the 30-day festive period. The carmaker registered a YoY growth of 33 percent compared to the 2024 Navratri to Diwali.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. said that Tata’s SUVs are in high demand, “while the EV portfolio also showed strong growth.” He added that the festive season performance “sets the tone for the rest of the fiscal.”
In September, the Tata Nexon and Punch were the top sales contributors with total sales of 49,402 units and 37,380 units, respectively. The Tata Tiago and Altroz continued to generate healthy volumes in the small car segment, while Harrier, Curvv and Safari maintained their sales momentum in the SUV space.

Tata’s Future Plan
In June 2025, Tata Motors announced its aggressive roadmap for the next five years that includes 30 new product launches. The upcoming lineup will include 7 all-new nameplates and 23 updates across ICE and EV segments.
Showcased as the Avinya and Avinya X concepts, Tata’s premium Avinya range of EVs will make debut from 2027 onwards. The next-generation Tata Nexon (codenamed ‘Garud’) is also part of the product plan, and is expected to arrive in 2027. The compact SUV will be based on a heavily modified version of the existing platform. While the existing petrol and CNG powertrains are likely to remain unchanged, it will remain to see whether the diesel engine will make it to the next-generation or not.
Meanwhile, the homegrown carmaker is gearing up to launch the next-generation Tata Sierra with petrol, diesel and electric powertrain options. The SUV is likely to share its powertrains with the Harrier EV and ICE (diesel) along with Tata’s all-new 1.5L naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines.
The highly-popular Tata Punch micro SUV will set to receive a midlife update in the coming months. It’s likely to witness minimal changes inside and out, while retaining the existing engines. Furthermore, the Tata Harrier and Safari SUVs will soon be introduced with the new 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine, producing power worth 170bhp.
