BHPian theabstractmind recently shared this with other enthusiasts: I did a 180 km round trip from my house to Muthathi. For the uninitiated, Muthathi is a temple situated on the banks of Cauvery river. On the onward journey, took a marked left from Kanakapura road which took me through a narrow road leading to Bheemeshwari JLR camp. About 15 km of this strech is gravel road. The road started from a gate – what looked like a checkpost into a forest area, but nobody to check! It was not tough to ride through, there were occasional water pools one had to wade through. At one point I felt l should return but kept going. There were big relatively fresh loads of animal poop – most likely that of an Elephant. Got me worried a bit, but seeing many vehicles passing in both directions, I kept going. This route is very scenic and cuts through a valley and leads to a temple – Paadarayana Swamy. From here the road is very nicely paved, narrow and twisty. A newcomer would he surprised at such a beautiful place so near to Bengaluru. The return journey from Muthathi I made through a road more taken, via Halagur by-pass. starting from Muthathi you have mild climb to make with twisties – was fairly easy to do it in 3rd and 2nd gears. Finally the road joins the highway. This is the new Bengaluru -Kanakapura-Malavalli highway. I must say the road was very good! The bike was a breeze to ride. It was easy to be in 5th gear post 60 kmph. Yet to calculate the fuel efficiency. I guess I got about 40 kmpl. All in all, a very pleasant ride, I must say.
