BHPian rkv_2401 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Drove from Chennai to Bangalore on the 22nd evening, started from Adyar at 2:30PM and reached Accenture on Hosur Road around 9:15PM. Awesome rains along the way, it eased up a bit after crossing Vellore but it was still raining throughout the journey which limited cruising speeds to around 90-100km/hr. The calm before the storm. https://youtu.be/zU-pdCdkjcU?si=iM_-30r2XFKNoMaH The storm itself. Note the bikers forging on despite the heavy rain and loud thunder. Massive respect to them. I feel that the main hazard on this Vellore-Krishnagiri road remains people crossing the road after dark…they’re a nuisance during the day, too, but it’s hard to spot them in unlit sections at night, and more importantly they find it hard to spot me, even with the aftermarket fog lamps on. Replacing my car’s candles with actual headlamps might help here. It’s best to honk as soon as you see them, and around tighter curves, poorly lit junctions etc. to not startle them and prevent them from making erratic decisions. Started doing this after my last trip, when I was taking a curve in the middle lane at ~100km/hr and a girl sprinted across the road after seeing me, less than 2 seconds in front of me!!
