BHPian Ananthponraj recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Route update – Attibele – Royakottai Recently I travelled from Bangalore to my hometown Kovilpatti on Oct 18, since it is festival weekend, I planned to take the Royakottai – Dharmapuri route and avoid Attibele toll (Google maps was full red and vehicles lined up from the start of fly over), Krishnagiri toll. I already got stuck at Chandapura market, flyover before the Chandapura railway underbridge for 15-20 mins. I took the right under the Attibele fly over, after a first 500 metres, the road was horrible till the left towards Hosur TVS Tamilnadu border where it becomes a single road. Hosur – Royakottai via Kelamangalam is 80-90% complete except a few diversions. Since it is festival weekend, the Royakottai is full red and just before entering Royakottai, there was a forced diversion by the cops on that day to take the service road on the right which turned out to be a time saver. That road passed through the under construction NH, some mud roads, a couple of railway underpasses and finally exited to the NH 844 after Royakottai. I was able drive continuously and save 10-15 mins traffic by avoiding stressful drive inside the Royakottai town. Blue/Orange is the route taken, yellow is the regular route insider Royakottai town.
