BHPian highwaypatrol recently shared this with other enthusiasts:20 Days of Ownership | 500 KMs CompletedHello BHPians, Thought of penning down my early ownership impressions of my Kia Syros HTX+O Diesel after completing the first 500 kms. The experience so far has been thoroughly positive! It’s turned out to be a fantastic family car with all the modern bells and whistles you’d expect in this segment. Here are my top 10 takeaways from the initial ownership period:Not a Mini SUV – More of a Mini (Semi Luxury) MPV!:While many call it a compact SUV, I see it as a mini MPV that perfectly fits the bill for family use. It’s wonderfully practical in the city and comfortable enough for highway runs.Elegant and Modern Interiors: The Syros feels fresher and more robust compared to the Seltos or Sonet. The build and finish are topnotch for its class.Airy and Pleasant Cabin Ambience:The interior color combination deserves a special mention. It creates an open, airy feel that completely avoids that sense of being closed in.FeatureRich Offering:The only major miss is rainsensing wipers – everything else you could ask for is included. Kia has done a great job making this feel comprehensive.Rear Seat Comfort – Class Leading!:The back seats are easily the best spot in the car. There’s generous space, excellent underthigh support, and ventilated seats – a rare luxury in this category.Easy to Drive and Great Visibility:The proportions and design make city driving stressfree. Navigating through narrow lanes or tight traffic is simple thanks to great allround visibility.Impressive Infotainment Display:The screen is crisp, vivid, and loaded with useful information. The clarity genuinely feels comparable to, if not better than, my BMW 3Series display.Flush Door Handles – Stylish but not Practical:They look premium but take a little time to get used to. Autopopout handles would’ve been a welcome addition in the top variant.Refined Diesel Engine:The engine is smooth, silent, and tuned for efficiency rather than outright thrills. That said, switch to Sport mode, and it comes alive when you need an extra burst for open roads.Fantastic Value After Price Revision:The recent GST cut brings the top model’s price down by about 2.2 lakh – making this an incredibly wellrounded package for its price.Final Thoughts:The Kia Syros HTX+O Diesel is shaping up to be the perfect family companion – practical, comfortable, and featurepacked. It blends city convenience with highway confidence beautifully. Kia has nailed the balance between style, comfort, and tech at this price point. Will share a detailed update after 1,000 kms – including mileage figures and highway experiences. Cheers, Highwaypatrol Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
