The Telangana government has announced the establishment of helpline numbers to assist families of passengers involved in the tragic bus fire accident that occurred near Chintikuru village in Kurnool district in the early hours of Friday, (October 24, 2025)
Two officers have been appointed to coordinate relief and provide information to the relatives of the passengers. M. Sri Rama Chandra, Assistant Secretary, can be contacted at 9912919545and E. Chitti Babu, Section Officer, at 9440854433.
According to an official memo, the bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru when it caught fire near Chintikuru village. The memo stated that the government has taken immediate steps to support the affected families.
The Director, Department of Protocol, Hyderabad, has been tasked with supervising the functioning of the helpline to ensure that assistance is extended promptly and efficiently.
The memo was signed by K. Ramakrishna Rao, Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana, and copies have been sent to senior officials including the Director General of Police, the Collector and Superintendent of Police of Gadwal district, and the Special Commissioner, I&PR Department.

The Collector and the district Superintendent of Police T. Srinivasa Rao reached the site of the accident site. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed the officials to be available at the location and extend full support to the victims’ families. Instructions were also issued to expedite identification of the deceased and medical assistance for the injured. Mr. Santosh said that the Kurnool SP is identifying bodies.
