Finally, after a lot of deliberation and delay the United States President Donald Trump has met with Chinese president XI Jinping in Busan, South Korea today. This meeting turned out to be a productive one for everyone involved as Trump and the Chinese president discussed a possible reconcile.
Shortly after the meeting, president Trump hinted that he could make a new trade deal with China. When a reporter asked him this question, his reply was “Could be”.
This was followed by a statement from Trump as he said “We’ve already agreed to a lot of things, and we’ll agree to some more right now, but President Xi is a great leader of a great country, and I think we’re going to have a fantastic relationship for a long period of time, and it’s an honour to have you with us.”
Considering the fact that the United States has been going exceptionally hard against China by threatening 100 percent import tariff, this meeting today gained prominence.
It is also a fact that Trump had been contemplating the idea of reviving Chinese social media platform, TikTok in the United States. Perhaps the meeting today could also pave way for the same.
