Kawasaki has updated the Z900RS for the 2026 model year, but this time, the changes are more than just cosmetic. These updates include changes to the engine, chassis and electronics package of the bike, ensuring that the famous ‘Z’ model name is not taken lightly, but rather justified by upgrading to the next level to stay updated with the current times. Internationally, apart from the standard variant, this motorcycle will also be offered with a high-spec SE variant equipped with premium cycle parts for suspension and braking.

Talking about the powertrain, the Z900RS uses the same 948cc inline-4 mill engine, but it now produces 5 bhp more power (114.4 bhp) and slightly more peak torque (98Nm). The gear ratios of the 6-speed gearbox have been changed and the bike has been updated with a ride-by-wire system. The motorcycle has been given a new megaphone-style exhaust with new piping, due to which the exhaust note has become even better. Some changes have also been made to the chassis to improve the overall dynamics of the motorcycle.

Talking about the electronics package, the Z900RS now gets even smarter thanks to IMU-based rider aids like Cornering Traction Control and Cornering ABS. Cruise control and bi-directional quick shifter are also available as standard. Talking about cycle parts, this motorcycle has a 41 mm USD fork setup at the front and preload-adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on either side, with a 300 mm twin disc at the front and a 250 mm single disc at the rear.

Finally, for the 2026 variant, Kawasaki has introduced two new colors named Candy Tone Red and Black Ball, the former of which pays tribute to the 1975 Kawasaki Z1B. The 2026 Z900RS has been introduced for the European market, but its prices are yet to be announced. For India, Kawasaki is expected to launch this motorcycle sometime in the coming year.
