Five years after death, T’gana worker’s body identified in Bahrain

Hyderabad: Five years after his death, the body of a Telangana worker has been identified in Bahrain, and a death certificate has been issued by the authorities. The Embassy of India in Bahrain issued the death certificate on Saturday, officially informing the Telangana govt about the death of Sreepada Naresh of Ramnagar Street in Metpally town, Jagtial district. He died at Salmaniya Hospital in Bahrain on May 28, 2020.The cause of death was officially recorded as “septic shock with multi-organ failure, liver failure, and community-acquired pneumonia.” The body was preserved in the Salmaniya Hospital morgue as it remained unidentified and there were no claimants. Earlier last month, after the Embassy of India released details such as the name and house number of Sreepada Naresh as found in documents, a resident of Jagtial, M Rakesh, searched for the house and managed to trace Naresh’s family. It was through this effort that the family came to know of Naresh’s death. However, the authorities in Bahrain have informed the family that due to the condition of the mortal remains, it would not be possible to send the body to India. Anand, the deceased’s brother, will travel to Bahrain for the funeral.“Given the long duration, the mortal remains are not in a condition fit for transportation,” the Embassy of India in Bahrain informed the state govt. The embassy added that the family could give its consent for the cremation or burial in Bahrain itself.
