The Suzuki Fronx was recently subjected to the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program), and secured an impressive 5 stars safety rating with an overall score of 77.70 points. The model tested was manufactured at Suzuki’s Chikarang facility in Indonesia, and is also sold in markets such as Laos, Cambodia, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. With a kerb weight of 1060kg, the tested Fronx was equipped with a 1.5L petrol engine paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Adult Occupant Protection
The Suzuki Front achieved 29.37 points out of 32 In adult occupant protection. In the offset deformable barrier test, the model achieved 13.74 points out of 16 points when crash tested against a stationary barrier. In the side impact, it secured 7.63 out of 8 points. The hazard perception test results were also impressive, with a full score of 8 out of 8 points.

Child Occupant Protection
In the child occupant protection, the Fronx earned 38.94 points out of a maximum of 51 points. In the frontal impact test, it received 9.94 out of 16 points. It achieved full scores in side impact test (8 out of 8) and installation (12 out of 12).
The compact crossover also received a 5 star rating in Safety Assist and Motorcyclist Safety with total scores of 16.50 out of 21 and 8 out of 16 points, respectively.
Safety Features
All variants of the Indonesia-spec Suzuki Fronx come equipped with 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for both frontal and rear seat occupants, Pedestrian Protection (PP) and ISOFIX for child seats.
In addition, the compact SUV offers Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) City, Inter-Urban, Blind Spot Detection (BSD) for both offside and nearside of the vehicle and Auto High Beam (AHB) are also on offer. However, the Malaysia-spec Fronx gets both BSD and AHB technologies as standard fitment.
